Claire Bevan

Completing her Masters degree in Textile Design in 2009 at Chelsea College of Art. Previously, in 2007, she gained a First Class Honours degree in Jewellery & Silversmithing from Birmingham's School of Jewellery. As a result of her training, Claire has developed an eye for detail as well as a passion for colour and texture. 

Claire finds inspiration in botanical and non-botanical subject matter, from climbing plants and their ability to beautify mundane architecture, to the intricate surface pattern of bugs and butterflies. Expressive drawing is fundamental to Claire's design approach. She enjoys overlaying gestural imagery with digitally manipulated designs and uses screen printing techniques to transfer these organic forms onto substrates such as silk and linen.
